Écran C F H - Carré C (SNCF)
Signal-ID: 240 (hex: 0xF0)
Using this signal configuration, the following signals can for example be operated:
- Châssis-Écran C
- Châssis-Écran F
- Châssis-Écran H
Using this signal configuration, the small Châssis-Écran A can also be operated with only two or three lamps. For easier operation, however, we recommend that you use the signal configuration "Écran A" with Signal-ID 242 (hex: 0xF2).
This signal configuration is designed to switch two violet lamps (Carré CV). If you wish to connect signals with a violet lamp (Carré violet C), then use the signal configuration "Écran C F H - Carré violet Cv" with Signal-ID 241 (hex: 0xF1).
Terminal assignment
Signal aspects
C
Carré C
Absolute stop aspect.
S
Sémaphore S
Block stop with additional, white light.
After stopping before the signal, it is permitted on BAL routes to continue to
proceed on sight at maximum 30 km/h.
It is not permitted to proceed further on BAPR routes.
(S)
Feu rouge clignotant (S)
Stopping before the signal is not necessary.
After the signal, it is permitted to proceed on sight at maximum 15 km/h.
(M)
Feu blanc clignotant (M)
Shunting movements in short sections of track permitted, but train departure is forbidden.
M
Feu blanc M
Permits shunting movements on sight, but also the departure of a train.
RR
Rappel de ralentissement 30 RR
Repeats the maximum permitted speed of 30 km/h in the following turnout area. This signal is shown after a speed limit announced with 30 R.
(RR)
Rappel de ralentissement 60 (RR)
Repeats the maximum permitted speed of 60km/h in the following turnout area. This signal is shown after a speed limit announced with 60 (R).
A
Avertissement A
Permits trains to pass; the train must be able to stop before the next signal.
R
Ralentissement 30 R
Speed limit for a turnout area of 30 km/h.
(A)
Feu jaune clignotant (A)
Permits trains to pass and announces an Avertissement A which stands at a shortened braking path distance from the next stop aspect.
(R)
Ralentissement 60 (R)
Speed limit for a turnout area of 60 km/h.
(VL)
Feu vert clignotant (VL)
Permits trains to pass and requests the traction unit driver to reduce the speed until the next signal to 160 km/h.
VL
Voie Libre VL
Track clear. Permits trains to pass.
RR+(A)
Rappel de ralentissement 30/Feu jaune clignotant RR+(A)
Repeats the maximum permitted speed of 30 km/h in the following turnout area and announces an Avertissement A which stands at a shortened braking path distance from the next stop aspect.
RR+A
Rappel de ralentissement 30/Avertissement RR+A
Repeats the maximum permitted speed of 30 km/h in the following turnout area and
announces a stop aspect.
It is also used for the following cases:
• Rappel de ralentissement 30/Ralentissement 30 RR+R
• Rappel de ralentissement 30/Ralentissement 60 RR+(R)
(RR)+(A)
Rappel de ralentissement 60/Feu jaune clignotant (RR)+(A)
Repeats the maximum permitted speed of 60km/h in the following turnout area and announces an Avertissement A which stands at a shortened braking path distance from the next stop aspect.
(RR)+A
Rappel de ralentissement 60/Avertissement (RR)+A
Repeats the maximum permitted speed of 60km/h in the following turnout area and
announces a stop aspect.
It is also used for the following cases:
• Rappel de ralentissement 60/Ralentissement 30 (RR)+R
• Rappel de ralentissement 60/Ralentissement 60 (RR)+(R)
(R)+(A)
Ralentissement 60/Feu jaune clignotant (R)+(A)
Speed limit for a turnout area of 60km/h, and announces an Avertissement A, which stands at a shortened braking path distance from the next stop aspect.
With the usual DCC "Basic Accessory Command", only 4*4=16 signal aspects can be switched, see the columns "Trigger" and "Mode".Theoretically, however, an SNCF signal can when fully developed present more than 16 signal aspects. For this reason, restrictions must be made for the signal aspects "RR+(A)" and "(RR)+(A)", which are rare anyway.
If you wish to use the full scope of functions and really want to switch all possible signal aspects, then you can do this using a DCC control centre which commands the "DCC Extended Accessory Command". See also the column DCCext:
- The signal aspects C, S, M, A and VL are switched with the values 0, 1, 2, 4 and 16.
- Then add 32 to obtain the flashing variants (S), (M), (A) and (VL).
- The signal aspect "Ralentissement 30 R" or "Ralentissement 60 (R)" is switched with the value 3 or 6.
- Then add 64 to obtain the repeat variant "Rappel de ralentissement 30 RR" or "Rappel de ralentissement 60 (RR)".
- To obtain combinations of A and R or RR, add the respective values. Example: "(RR)+(A)" = (6+64)+(4+32) = 106.
